Vasilisa smiles at him. "For the challenge we must learn the basics of every Western Garou Tribe in relation to how they would stereotypically give a punishment. We must hear every Tenet of the Litany, but each Tribe we go to has to only cover one. We must hear a tale of how someone from your Tribe violated a Tenet of the Litany and how your Tribe chose to punish them. We would also like to discuss that Tenet of the Litany with you afterwards. This lessons that we learned will be presented to the one we challenged, Harris "One Eye" Get of Fenris, Adren, Philodox, Homid, Alpha Get of Fenris and Beta Philodox of our Sept, the Moon's Huntress."

Bjorn seems a little miffed that he hasn't met the Get of Fenris mentioned but shrugs it off. "I will gladly aid you to complete this challenge. Which tenet of the Litany do you prefer?"

"How about The First Share of the Kill for the Greatest in Station? This is a Tenet we do not hear many punishments about and we are interested how someone, like yourself, who takes hospitality so serious views it. It isn't necessarily about hospitality but to us it seems connected. Those who are higher in station and rank have proven themselves more than those who are lower in station and rank. Basic etiquette of many cultures states that the eldest are to be respected and given deference. Or the most important person in a business meeting takes the first bite or sip. This connection to one aspect of hospitality is very intriguing to us. Unless you have a Tenet you wish to speak on, this is the one we would like to hear from you about."

((OoC: If you do not know of any Get of Fenris Tribal punishments for this Tenet, I am happy to work with you to change the Tenet.))

Bjorn smiles. "Your interpretation of this tenet is pretty accurate. Often times the Litany is meant to be interpreted by situation. With the Get of Fenris this tenet is very straight forward. This is not a tenet of the Litany lupus often have trouble with. The concept of greed is generally present in homids."

He pauses and refills glasses if needed.

"Get are not hard to understand. Usually violations of this tenet are seen as a challenge and settled immediately. Depending on the situation the ass beating may suffice as punishment."

"Yet, if the challenger should win. Well, the Fenrir are a very mught makes right culture."

Post Re: Litany Discussion

"This is pretty straightforward. Someone of greater station should be able to hold their own in a fight if it came down to such a difference and we also believe that with situations such as this and with violation of territory, that in most of the cases, not all, it should be settled between the individuals or groups. What happens if a Garou of higher station abuses this and uses it as an excuse to keep everything for themself? Or if someone of lower station who would not be able to defeat the higher station Garou has spent a considerable amount of time on locating an item and questing for it, and the higher station Garou claims this special item for themself? In hospitality this would be covered in the reverse and would be a breach if one were to do that. But, this tenet is not the tenet of hospitality, it just easy for us to understand it by viewing it in such a way. Do you think this tenet would cover the reverse or would it be covered under Respecting Those Beneath You? To us we do not see how might makes right in this situation would apply, but it is certainly disrespectful. It is also abusing a Tenet of the Litany which should have a punishment associated with it because the Litany is not in place for the lines to be bent."

She stops because she realizes she is rambling.

Zack raises a hand in as, If I may, gesture, as we're in Bjorn's domain here, "With regard to a quest for an item and the like, that Garou is likely the one leading the mission, even if it is just themselves.  In the nature of a pack questing for something it would go first to the Alpha and then to whomever the Alpha decides.  It would be, in my opinion, a very large slight were someone to embark on a quest and return to their Sept and the Alpha of the Sept decides the item is theirs.  Unless of course, there are circumstances in which the quest was FOR the sept, in which case I would expect that to occur," Zack says in a fairly reasonable manner.

((Sorry I feel into a school hole... >.>))

Vasilisa looks at Zack and nods her head. "That is true. We sometimes forget that station is not as static as we think it is. So in the case of the second to last one, where someone were to go on a quest and return to the Sept and the Alpha of the Sept takes the item, but the item was not for the Sept, would that be a violation of the litany or just a social slight?"

"I believe that here it would be a significant issue.  I would in fact likely have an investigation started and have it Judged.  But as with everything we do, it would also matter what rules are in place on the sept and within it."

Zack nods, "Exactly; yet not only that; a corruption of the Litany in question now."

The Fenrir smirks as his student speaks. "It is exactly that. The Litany over laps in many places. To prevent such corruption."

Post Re: Litany Discussion

Vasilisa pays very close attention to their exchange.

"The Litany being manipulated is not something that is often brought up when we go and speak with other Philodox. From a few incidents we have seen we feel that it is just as important to speak about the possible corruptions of the Litany as well as the violations. This is because the manipulations diminish the Litany and everything that the Litany, itself, fights against. Thank you, it is true that the Litany overlaps in several places. We heard a tale where someone had to choose which Tenet to break. Either they Submitted to those in Higher station and did not leave their post when they were ordered, or they traveled to the Caern Heart because they had a vision in that moment that the heart was to be under attack. They chose to trust that their vision was not a manipulation of the Wyrm and went to the Caern Heart. There indeed an attack there. The Caern was managed to be saved because of that action. When punishment came, he submitted himself and was given a very light punishment because his actions saved the Caern. When we were told that tale a couple years ago, we thought about how it seemed unfair that the Litany would also punish those that try to follow it. The other side of the corruption of the Litany is the Litany hurting those who try to uphold it. It is why we brought up the initial question. We feel both sides are not discussed enough, though really the Litany hurting Garou is more of an issue with those Philodox who believe each Tenet of the Litany is equal."
